We take our commitment to collaboration seriously and work with a range of partners and stakeholders all over the world to draw on world class expertise to improve AMR surveillance. We partner with the key multilateral organisations, expert technical organisations and foundations and a broad range of delivery partners including academic institutions, NGOs, and a Management Agent appointed to manage our Country, Regional and Fellowship Scheme Grants.

The Global Research on Antimicrobial Resistance (GRAM) Project is a partnership between the University of Oxford (Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health) and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, to provide rigorous quantitative estimates of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) burden. This is currently funded by the Fleming Fund and the Wellcome Trust.

Mott MacDonald is the commercially appointed Management Agent for the Fleming Fund Country and Regional Grants and Fellowships programme. Their functions include leadership and coordination, grant scoping and administration, reporting, monitoring and risk management.

Itad provides independent, professional advice, monitoring and evaluation to organisations. Itad will conduct an independent evaluation of the Fleming Fund’s Country, Regional, and Fellowship Grant Programme. They will provide adaptive management support for Mott MacDonald enabling ongoing learning and programme improvement. Itad will also provide an evaluation of the Global Burden of Disease study.

FAO is an agency of the United Nations who aims to achieve food security for all. The Fleming Fund supports the FAO to tackle AMR through a One Health approach alongside WOAH and WHO, in 12 countries. The Fleming Fund also funds a secondee to support the delivery of the grant objectives and collaboration between the tripartite.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), founded as OIE, is the intergovernmental organisation responsible for improving animal health worldwide. The Fleming Fund is supporting WOAH’s global work to tackle AMR through a One Health approach alongside FAO and WHO. The Fleming Fund has also funded a secondee to support the delivery of the grant objectives and close collaboration between the tripartite.

The WHO is the lead global agency on health. Their goal is to build a healthier future. The Fleming Fund supports the WHO to tackle AMR through a One Health approach alongside FAO and WOAH in countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South and South-East Asia . The Fleming Fund funds a secondee to support the delivery of the grant objectives and collaboration between the tripartite.

The South Centre, an international, multilateral organisation, is a key delivery partner for the Fleming Fund. It supports us by raising awareness of drug-resistance and advocating for action to address it among governments, civil society organisations and other networks in low- and middle-income countries.

One billion people will never see a qualified health worker in their lives. For thirty years, GHP has been working to change this, training health workers to build a world where everyone has access to affordable and quality healthcare. GHP achieve this by training and educating health workers in Africa and Asia, working in partnership with organisations and volunteers from across the UK.
