Fleming Fellowship Symposium: Sustainability and Global Knowledge

The sixth and final Fleming Fund Fellows Symposium explored how the fellows' learning and development have made a lasting impact on the healthcare sector, elevating livelihoods nationally and globally.

Celebrating the success of the Fleming Fund Fellowship Scheme, the sixth Fleming Fund Fellows’ Symposium showcased how the fellows are strengthening health systems, informing national policies and protecting lives from antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Sessions were opened by lead mentors, who introduced their own research, followed by fellows presenting their collaborative One Health projects ─ encompassing human, animal and environmental health. This illustrates how the work has influenced and changed systems and policies, improving the fellows’ country’s response to the global threat of AMR.

Fellows highlighted additional benefits gained from the Scheme, such as cross-sectoral collaborations, which are crucial for the all-important holistic approach required in AMR. Not to mention the immense Fleming Fellowships network that will continue to support their work throughout their careers, influencing policy and leading ongoing action against AMR.
